Arm Candy

Arm Candy Arm Candy by T.C. Littles
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Synopsis
King is an underground record producer in Detroit who’s finally getting shine and being recognized for his talent. Everything would be perfect if he didn’t have an addiction to arm candy. King loves beautiful women. He flaunts them at parties, kicks it with them during studio sessions, and has his way with them—all while his woman is busy working to help support his dream.

Samira is King’s girlfriend, the person who has been his monetary backbone. From music equipment to clothes, to a roof over his head, she has provided everything for King in the hopes becoming his wife. She wants to live the Hollywood dream, complete with a mainstream record deal. When Samira finds out King’s main groupie chick, Rayna, is pregnant and has been plotting to steal her man, all hell breaks loose.

With a chaotic love life, a newborn, and two chicks fighting over him, King can’t focus. His career takes a big stumble that he’s not sure he can recover from.

Book Review
King and Samira had a toxic relationship that was front and center. Samira funded King's dream to be in the music producer. She allowed him to cheat, which resulted in a baby being born. Her response to the cheating was to cheat herself with someone he knew and to remove her financial support from him (temporarily).
I liked that this story, sadly, resembled real life for some. Any of us who suffer from a bout of low self-esteem or unrealistic expectations of our place or our importance in someone's life could fall victim to this level of toxicity. The story did move quickly and the drama kept coming. It did not always make sense to me. The plus also was that Nicole Small as a narrator and the audio production were both good. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants high drama. You can get your copy here and support the author by leaving a review.
